Black TZP ceramic bezels with Carbon TPT® caseband and red detailing
The Midnight Fire combines two black high-tech materials in the tripartite RM 011 case. The front and back bezels are black TZP ceramic, blasted to a matt finish; the centre caseband, together with the crown and the pushers, is Carbon TPT®. TZP is Richard Mille’s designation for black and coloured ceramic, as against ATZ for white.
Against that all-black exterior the hour indicators, the flange and the pushers are executed in red, with white hands. The watch is fitted to a black rubber strap closing on a black DLC-treated titanium buckle. The edition ran to 88 pieces and was released exclusively for the Americas.

Design and engineering
- Black TZP ceramic bezelsTZP — tetragonal zirconia polycrystal — is a zirconium-oxide ceramic that resists scratching and corrosion without the brittleness associated with harder ceramics. For the Midnight Fire the material is blasted to a matt finish and formed into the front and back bezels of the case.
- Carbon TPT® caseband, crown and pushersThe centre section of the case is Carbon TPT®, composed of layers of parallel carbon filaments obtained by dividing carbon fibres. The layers are impregnated with resin and woven on a machine that changes the direction of the weft between successive layers, then cured before machining, which cuts across the laminate and exposes it as the surface undulation characteristic of the material. The crown and pushers are made from the same material.
- Red and white dial furnitureThe hour indicators, the flange and the pushers are executed in red. The hands are white.
- Calibre RMAC1Skeletonised automatic winding movement, entirely grade 5 titanium and hand finished, with flyback chronograph, 60-minute countdown timer at 9 o’clock, 12-hour totaliser at 6 o’clock, oversize date at 12 o’clock, month indicator between 4 and 5 o’clock and annual calendar. The calendar distinguishes 30- and 31-day months and requires correction once a year, at the end of February.
- Variable-geometry rotorThe rotor’s winding efficiency can be adjusted by repositioning weights on its arms, matching the winding rate to the wearer’s level of activity.
- Case assembly20 grade 5 titanium spline screws with 316L stainless steel washers; the movement is carried on rubber O-ring seals with silent blocks.
