Overview
A perpetual calendar in the Twenty~4
The Patek Philippe Twenty~4 Perpetual Calendar, reference 7340/1R-010, in rose gold with a sunburst olive green dial and rose gold applied numerals, on the fully polished rose gold bracelet. Self-winding calibre 240 Q with day, date, month, leap year and 24-hour indication by hands, moon phases at 6 o'clock; 36 mm, 9.95 mm high.
This execution carries a sunburst olive green dial with rose gold applied numerals and rose gold rounded baton hands with white luminescent coating, which Patek Philippe presents as a subtle and modern colour against the rose gold case and bracelet.
The reference 7340/1R is the Twenty~4 Perpetual Calendar in rose gold, which Patek Philippe presents as the first complication and the first perpetual calendar in the Twenty~4 collection. It keeps the collection's 36 mm round case, here fully polished with a bezel that is not gem-set, on a fully polished rose gold bracelet with a patented fold-over clasp, and stands 9.95 mm high.
The slimness comes from the calibre 240 Q, which Patek Philippe calls ultra-thin: 3.88 mm high across 27.5 mm, 275 parts and 27 jewels, wound by a 22K gold off-centre minirotor recessed into the movement rather than a full rotor turning above it. The perpetual calendar reads day, date, month, leap year and a 24-hour indication by hands, with the moon phases at 6 o'clock. It beats at 21,600 semi-oscillations an hour on a Gyromax® balance with a Spiromax® balance spring, for a power reserve of 38 to 48 hours, and carries the Patek Philippe Seal.
For collectors
Patek Philippe's own measure of the reference is the height: a full perpetual calendar in a 9.95 mm case, which it attributes to the 3.88 mm calibre 240 Q, with a bezel Patek Philippe notes as non gem-set.
