The Patek Philippe Nautilus Flyback Chronograph Travel Time, reference 5990/1R-001, in rose gold on the rose gold bracelet, sunburst blue dial, horizontally embossed. Self-winding calibre CH 28-520 C FUS with flyback chronograph, two time zones and a date hand coupled to local time; 40.5 mm from 10 to 4 o'clock, 12.53 mm high.
The rose gold execution pairs the case and bracelet metal with a sunburst blue dial without the gradient rim, rose gold hour markers and hands, the home-time hand skeletonised. Patek Philippe adds what the chronograph combines: a column wheel for its control, which it calls the traditional part, and a vertical disc clutch for its coupling, the innovation. The bracelet closes with a rose gold fold-over clasp.
The reference 5990 is the Nautilus that carries two complications at once: a flyback chronograph and Patek Philippe's Travel Time, a second time zone with a date hand coupled to local time. This execution is rose gold on a rose gold bracelet with a sunburst blue dial; Patek Philippe presents the three functions as useful and user-friendly ones. The case is the porthole construction, 40.5 mm from 10 to 4 o'clock and 12.53 mm high, with the two time-zone pushers built into the case at 9 o'clock, a screw-down crown and a sapphire crystal back.
The self-winding calibre CH 28-520 C FUS is the chronograph calibre with the Travel Time work added: 31 mm across, 6.95 mm high, 370 parts, 34 jewels, a 21K gold central rotor. Travel Time works with two hour hands: the solid hand shows local time and the skeletonised hand home time, and the pushers at 9 o'clock set the local hand; each zone has its own day/night aperture, and the date hand follows local time, so it changes when the traveller does. The chronograph is a flyback with a central seconds hand and a 60-minute counter. It runs at 28,800 semi-oscillations an hour on a Gyromax® balance with a Spiromax® balance spring, for 45 to 55 hours of power reserve, and carries the Patek Philippe Seal.
