Self-winding ultra-thin calibre 240 SQU, entirely skeletonised and engraved by hand over almost 130 hours; 39 mm, 6.7 mm high.
The reference 5180/1R-001 is Patek Philippe's skeleton watch in rose gold, in the Complications collection under Rare Handcrafts: the brand presents it as a tribute to the old craft of skeletonising, with the ultra-thin self-winding calibre 240 SQU entirely openworked, decorated and engraved by hand. The case is rose gold, 39 mm across and 6.7 mm high, on a polished rose gold mesh bracelet with a rose gold fold-over clasp. There is no dial: the movement is the face, with blackened white gold leaf-shaped hands over it.
The calibre 240 SQU is the skeleton form of the brand's ultra-thin 240, wound by a 22K gold off-centre minirotor, which here carries the engraved Patek Philippe Seal. The movement is skeletonised throughout, then decorated and engraved by hand; Patek Philippe puts the engraving alone at almost 130 hours.
