The Patek Philippe minute repeater with perpetual calendar, reference 5074R-001, in rose gold: the self-winding calibre R 27 Q striking on cathedral gongs, with the date, day, month, leap-year cycle, a 24-hour dial and the moon phases.
The reference 5074R-001 is a self-winding minute repeater with a perpetual calendar, cased in rose gold. Patek Philippe's instructions for the reference describe a movement that carries a strike train together with the full perpetual calendar and a moon-phase display, and single out the watch for its sonority, the result of the brand's metallurgical and acoustic research into its gongs. Patek Philippe no longer makes this reference.
The calibre R 27 Q is wound by a guilloched 22K gold minirotor and is 28 mm across and 6.80 mm high, with 467 parts and 39 jewels. On demand the repeater strikes the hours on the low-pitched gong, the quarters as alternating double strikes on both gongs and the minutes on the high-pitched gong, up to 32 strikes at 12:59. The calendar shows the date, day, month and leap-year cycle, with a 24-hour dial and the moon phases, and allows for months of 28, 29, 30 and 31 days.
For collectors
Patek Philippe states that, worn regularly or kept in a winder, the calendar needs no manual correction until 28 February 2100, a secular year in which 29 February is skipped.
