The A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Rattrapante Perpetual Calendar Handwerkskunst, reference 421.048FE, in an 18-carat white gold case, 41.9 mm across and 15.8 mm high, with a blue-enamelled dial. A. Lange & Söhne no longer makes this reference. Lange states that this model was introduced in 2017. Lange limits this version to 20 pieces.
This 1815 combines a chronograph with a perpetual calendar on one manually wound calibre. Lange’s page describes a dial engraved by hand under blue enamelling, and a white-gold cuvette that hinges open, also blue-enamelled.
The movement is calibre L101.1, manually wound, with 631 parts and a reserve of 42 hours; the balance beats at 21,600 semi-oscillations an hour (3.0 Hz). Lange lists the power-reserve indicator, moon-phase display, chronograph, day-of-week display, perpetual calendar and analogue date. The case is 15.8 mm high and water resistant to 3 bar. The strap is alligator leather, closed with a deployant buckle in the case metal.
For collectors
The case back is a hinged white-gold cuvette rather than a sapphire glass back, and Lange states that the cuvette carries relief and tremblage engravings.
