Two tourbillons under a curved sapphire crystal
The Jacob & Co. Twin Turbo, reference TT100.40.NS.NK.D, in an 18-carat rose gold and carbon fibre case, 57.3 x 51 mm and 16.90 mm high. Its sapphire dial has an applied Jacob & Co. logo and applied numerals, on a black veal leather strap with an 18-carat rose gold deployant clasp.
Jacob & Co. presents the Twin Turbo as an expression of speed and describes its case and movement in terms of a fast car. The sapphire crystal arches over the movement like a windshield, and beneath it sit two flying tourbillons, each with a triple-axis carriage.
Hand-wound calibre JCFM01 has 572 components and a 50-hour power reserve. Each tourbillon is held only from below, with no upper bridge, in a spherical carriage that turns on three axes. Jacob & Co. says that two of them side by side improve accuracy. The watch also chimes the time as a decimal minute repeater on Cathedral gongs. This version is limited to 18 pieces.
