A case engraved with 13 scenes from the film
The Jacob & Co. Opera Godfather 50th Anniversary, reference OP110.30.AB.AB.A, in a laser-engraved case of 18-carat white gold and sapphire crystals, 49 mm across and 20 mm high. Its dial is 18-carat rose gold and smoked sapphire, on a black alligator leather strap with an 18-carat white gold deployant clasp.
Jacob & Co. made this edition for the 50th anniversary of the film’s cinema release, under its partnership with Paramount Pictures. The side of the white gold case was the one blank area of the Opera Godfather, and Jacob & Co. now engraves it with 13 scenes using femtolaser technology.
At the press of a pusher, a music box plays Nino Rota’s main theme for 30 seconds while the whole movement turns on its axis. The time dial counter-rotates at the same speed, so it stays upright. Calibre JCFM04 has 658 components and a 50-hour power reserve. The two cylinders carry 13 quotes from the film, and the piano-shaped cover bears the 50th anniversary logo. This version is limited to 50 pieces.
