An X-shaped skeleton with a one-minute tourbillon
The Jacob & Co. Epic X Tourbillon Baguette, reference EX520.43.BD.AA.B40BD, in an 18-carat rose gold case, 44 mm across and 12.3 mm high. It has a skeleton movement, a bezel and inner ring set with white baguette-cut diamonds, and an 18-carat rose gold bracelet with a folding clasp.
The Epic X collection was launched in 2016, and its design takes the letter X as its starting point. On this watch the X begins at one pair of lugs, passes through the bridges of the skeleton movement and ends at the other pair. Jacob & Co. sets the stones in invisible setting, with the baguette-cut stones laid side by side so that no metal shows between them.
Hand-wound calibre JCAM02 is a skeleton movement that shows hours and minutes and carries a one-minute tourbillon. The tourbillon keeps the escapement in constant rotation, which counters the effect of gravity on accuracy. The movement has 158 components and a 48-hour power reserve. This version is limited to 18 pieces.
