An X-shaped skeleton with a one-minute tourbillon
The Jacob & Co. Epic X Tourbillon Baguette, reference EX520.43.AC.AA.A, in an 18-carat rose gold case, 44 mm across and 12.30 mm high. It has a skeleton movement, with baguette-cut diamonds and baguette-cut orange sapphires set in the case, crown and bridges, on a white rubber strap with an 18-carat rose gold folding clasp.
Orange sapphires are set in the case and on the bridges, alongside diamonds in the case, crown and crown guards. The clasp is an 18-carat rose gold folding clasp.
The Epic X collection was launched in 2016, and its design takes the letter X as its starting point. On this watch the X begins at one pair of lugs, passes through the bridges of the skeleton movement and ends at the other pair. Jacob & Co. sets the stones in invisible setting, with the baguette-cut stones laid side by side so that no metal shows between them.
Hand-wound calibre JCAM03 is a skeleton movement that shows hours and minutes and carries a one-minute tourbillon. The tourbillon keeps the escapement in constant rotation, which counters the effect of gravity on accuracy. It has 179 components and a large barrel gives a 72-hour power reserve. This version is limited to 18 pieces.
