A drummer’s tribute in a skeleton case
The Jacob & Co. Epic X Producer Michael, reference EX120.43.AA.AA.A, in a case of 18-carat rose gold, custom Producer Michael logo in the inner case, 44 mm across and 13.05 mm high. Its skeleton dial has a red Jacob & Co. logo on the right bridge, on a black honeycomb rubber strap with an 18-carat rose gold ardillon buckle.
Michael Blakey, known as Producer Michael, began as a drummer and is a longtime wearer of Jacob & Co. watches. The brand worked with him on this member of its Epic X family, which uses the cases of Epic X Skeleton and Epic X Bridges. The hands are drumstick-shaped, a nod to his first career, and his signature appears on the caseback.
Hand-wound calibre JCAM45 shows hours and minutes only. Jacob & Co. developed it for Epic X as a skeletonised movement in which parts that would normally be solid are hollowed out. It has 158 components and a 48-hour power reserve. This version is limited to 101 pieces.
