An oil well that moves, in a 43 mm case
The Jacob & Co. Oil Pump 43MM, reference OI110.40.AA.AE.A, in an 18-carat rose gold case, 43 mm across and 18 mm high. Its green sunray-finished dial has applied numerals, on a green alligator leather strap with an 18-carat rose gold and titanium folding clasp.
Green accents appear on the decor of this version, and its strap is green alligator leather.
Jacob & Co. describes the Oil Pump as a three-dimensional, animated oil well built from watchmaking parts. Press the pusher at 1:30 o’clock and two horse-head derricks begin to move up and down, driven by a single hidden axis. Bent and straight pipes join a barrel and a manifold, and a pressure gauge on the pipeline is the power reserve indicator.
Hand-wound calibre JCAM53 has 450 components and a 72-hour power reserve. Jacob & Co. developed it for this watch. Its flying tourbillon sits above the dial and turns once in 60 seconds. The derrick sequence lasts at least 35 seconds. This version is limited to 99 pieces.
