A sports chronograph in a 44 mm case
The Jacob & Co. Epic X Chrono 44MM, reference EC430.43.AC.AA.A, in an 18-carat rose gold and black ceramic case, 44 mm across and 14 mm high. It has a black crystal dial with rose gold details, on a black honeycomb rubber strap with an 18-carat rose gold and titanium deployment buckle.
Here the bezel and inner ring are 18-carat rose gold, while the crown and pushers are black ceramic. The chronograph hands are red.
Jacob & Co. added this 44 mm size to the Epic X Chrono after its 47 mm versions. The X of the collection runs from the lugs through the dial, and guards around the crown and pushers protect the parts that would otherwise stand proud of the case.
Self-winding calibre JCAA05 is a bi-compax chronograph with a column wheel, a horizontal clutch and two pushers. Pressing the 2 o’clock pusher starts and stops the chronograph, and the 4 o’clock pusher returns the hands to zero. The central seconds hand and a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock show elapsed time. A rotor shaped after the collection’s X winds the movement and can be seen through the caseback.
