A skeleton movement ruled by the letter X
The Jacob & Co. Epic X Chrono Tourbillon Baguette, reference EC380.40.BD.BD.A40BD, in an 18-carat rose gold case, 47 mm across and 14 mm high. Its dial is black mineral crystal and 18-carat rose gold, set with white baguette-cut diamonds on the bridges, on an 18-carat rose gold bracelet with an 18-carat rose gold deployant clasp.
Jacob & Co. launched the Epic X collection in 2016 and says the letter X stands for something unknown and mysterious. Every part of the design follows that idea, the skeleton movement included. Baguette-cut stones are set side by side, with no metal showing between them, and the open structure lets light reach them. A dedicated gold bracelet carries gems on its links.
Self-winding calibre JCAA09 has 278 components and a 48-hour power reserve. It combines a one-minute flying tourbillon with a two-register chronograph, both on display on the dial side. The tourbillon keeps the escapement turning, which counteracts the effect of gravity on accuracy. This version is limited to 36 pieces.
