Overview
Two time zones and a 30-second tourbillon
The Jacob & Co. Dual Time Zone Tourbillon, from the World is Yours collection, reference DT200.40.AA.AA.A, in an 18-carat rose gold case, 43 mm across and 18 mm high. Its blued titanium dial has stamped continents and a rose gold finish, on a blue alligator leather strap with an 18-carat rose gold deployment clasp.
The watch keeps two independent time zones, each with its own hours and minutes, on two sub-dials. Each can be set to the minute, so it suits offsets that are not whole hours. The crown has three positions: winding, setting the lower zone and setting the upper zone. Jacob & Co. says the design follows a watch with two time zones that Jacob Arabo was given by his father at the age of 13.
Self-winding calibre JCAA45 has 300 components and a 65-hour power reserve. Jacob & Co. says it is the first of its movements to be wound by an off-centred micro-rotor, which keeps the height down. The central tourbillon turns once every 30 seconds on a sapphire bridge, with a compass rose above it. This version is limited to 199 pieces.
