Two tourbillons beneath a diamond-set dial
The Jacob & Co. Billionaire Tourbillon Angel Cut, reference BL140.45.AA.AA.A, in an 18-carat rose gold case, 54 x 40 mm and 11 mm high. Its dial is 18-carat rose gold set with yellow Angel-cut and emerald-cut diamonds, on a blue alligator leather strap with an 18-carat rose gold deployment buckle. This version is a pièce unique.
Every stone on this version is a yellow diamond, and the dial is rose gold.
Jacob & Co. introduced the Angel cut for the fortieth anniversary of the company and says the cut is patented. It takes its name from Angela Arabov, the wife of Jacob Arabo. The cut has cut corners and a lozenge-shaped table, and its outline is rectangular and stepped. The dial is set with these stones in a brick-wall pattern, which Jacob & Co. says hides the skeleton movement beneath it.
Hand-wound calibre JCAM50 has 460 components and a 72-hour power reserve. Two round openings in the dial show two flying tourbillons, each turning once a minute and each fed by its own barrel. A differential joins their timekeeping to drive the hour and minute hands.
