Overview

A planetary system on the wrist

The Jacob & Co. Astronomia Tourbillon, reference AT103.40.AA.AA.B, in an 18-carat rose gold case, 50 mm across and 25 mm high. Its titanium dial has an aventurine base with a hand-painted Milky Way and 7 stone planets, on a blue alligator strap with an 18-carat rose gold deployant buckle.

Jacob & Co. names this version the Typhoon. Its movement is vertical, with four arms, and makes a full revolution around the central axis every 10 minutes. The dial turns on a patented differential gear system, and the globe is blue lacquered.

Astronomia Tourbillon is Jacob & Co.’s wrist-sized model of a planetary system. A diamond stands for the moon and a lacquered magnesium globe for the Earth.

Hand-wound calibre JCAM35 has 617 components, 70 jewels and a 60-hour power reserve. Its tourbillon cage turns on three axes: once in 60 seconds, once in 2.5 minutes and once in 10 minutes. The diamond and the globe each turn on themselves in 30 seconds. This version is limited to 18 pieces.
