Pandas and bamboo on a vertical movement
The Jacob & Co. Astronomia Art, reference AS912.40.AA.AA.A, in an 18-carat rose gold case, 44 mm across and 21 mm high. Its dial is rose gold-plated titanium, and its base dial is hand-engraved and hand-painted with pandas and bamboo. The watch is on a black alligator strap with an 18-carat rose gold deployant clasp.
Astronomia Art uses the Astronomia planetary system as a canvas for craft. Here the subject is pandas and bamboo, hand-engraved and hand-painted on 18-carat rose gold, with 211 baguette white diamonds (≈9.28 ct.) in the base dial. An emerald green cubic zirconia, cut in the Jacob cut, sits on top of the movement.
Hand-wound calibre JCAM42 has 295 components, 42 jewels and a 48-hour power reserve. It is a vertical movement with three arms, carrying a flying tourbillon that turns once in 60 seconds. A blue lacquered globe turns on itself in 60 seconds. This version is limited to 9 pieces.
