The QP Balancier is Greubel Forsey's perpetual calendar, built around what the brand counts as its seventh invention, the Mechanical Computer: a stack of coaxial coding wheels carrying removable, programmable fingers, which the brand describes as the calendar logic of the old astronomical clocks brought into a wristwatch movement. It is a 45.1 mm white gold watch regulated by the Tourbillon 24 Secondes, in 22 pieces.
The dial carries the leap year, day and night, the day of the week, a large date, the month, hours, minutes, seconds and a 72-hour power reserve. On the movement side are the equation of time, the months and seasons, the solstices and equinoxes, and the calendar year. All of it is set from the single crown, in either direction, without risk of damage: the brand's stated aim was that the construction's complexity should never become difficulty in use. A function selector chooses what the crown adjusts.

A conventional perpetual calendar is generally set forward only; the brand states this one is set in both directions from the crown, which matters for a watch that is not worn every day and is left to stop.
