Closing the gold trilogy
The F.P. Journe Vagabondage I Gold, reference V, in 18K 6N gold, the Flat Tortue case 45.2 × 37.5 mm and 7.6 mm high, on a leather strap with 6N gold folding clasp, with the slate grey sapphire dial. Manually wound calibre 1504.2 in 18K rose gold, jumping hours in a wandering window.
The Vagabondage I in 6N gold, produced in 2022 in a series numbered 1 to 68, completes the gold set of the three Vagabondage models. F.P. Journe traces the line to CARPEDIEM, made in 1997 for a friend, with a wandering jump hour around an exposed central balance; a hand-wound Flat Tortue prototype followed and was set aside. In 2003 Antiquorum asked for a unique piece for a charity sale for the ICM Foundation, and Journe reworked the prototype into three unsigned pieces in rose, yellow and white gold. The platinum Vagabondage I followed in 2004, Vagabondage II in 2010 and Vagabondage III in 2017.
This is not a copy of the 2004 platinum watch. The case is 45.2 × 37.5 mm, and the movement is calibre 1504.2, an updated version that is still hand-wound; Journe says the first could be considered a prototype and that experience has since let him make a better, more reliable calibre. The display works as before: the hour appears as a numeral in a window that wanders around the slate grey sapphire dial, and the window's position gives the minutes. As since the first, the dial carries no inscription.

The watch was allocated to finish sets: it was offered on application, with priority to collectors holding the gold Vagabondage II and III with the matching serial number.
