The F.P. Journe Octa Automatique Lune France-China 50, reference AL, in platinum, with the blue dial, gold numerals surfaced with a diamond tool, France-Chine 50 logo and rhodium-plated steel hands. 40 mm and 10.6 mm high, self-winding calibre 1300.3 in 18K rose gold with large date, moon phase and power reserve.
F.P. Journe was the official watchmaker of France-China 50, the commemoration of fifty years of diplomatic relations between the French Republic and the People's Republic of China. As its patron, the brand designed the commemorative watch presented at the events, an Octa Automatique Lune produced between 2014 and 2016.
The platinum case holds a blue dial made for the event, with gold Arabic numerals surfaced with a diamond tool and the F.P. Journe and France-China 50 logos. It shows central hours and minutes, small seconds at 4:30, a large date, the power reserve at 9 o'clock and the phases of the moon. The self-winding movement, calibre 1300.3 in 18K rose gold, is visible through the sapphire back; its off-centre rotor in 22K rose gold winds in one direction and turns on a self-locking ball bearing, so that small movements of the wrist are put to use.
