The F.P. Journe Centigraphe Sport, reference CTS, in aluminium alloy with rubber inserts, on a strap, with the aluminium alloy and sapphire dial and applied luminescent indexes and numerals. 42 mm and 11.6 mm high, hand-wound calibre 1506 in aluminium alloy, timing to a hundredth of a second.
F.P. Journe chose the Centigraphe to open its lineSport collection, watches designed for lightness and for sport, and made this one in aluminium alloy: case and movement, and the bracelet where fitted. The brand describes it as the first mechanical high-horology chronograph made that way. It was produced between 2011 and 2014, and on 27 May 2012 it ran its first official motor race, the Indy500, on Jean Alesi's wrist. As with the other Centigraphes, 30% of the profits from each sale go to the ICM in Paris.
The hand-wound calibre 1506 reads elapsed time from a hundredth of a second to 10 minutes on three dials. Its chronograph does not run off the going train: trains driven from the centre of the mainspring carry the hundredth and 20-second hands, and a separate train from the barrel arbor the 10-minute hand, an arrangement the brand patented and says leaves the balance amplitude unaffected. The hundredth hand, released by a wheel on the escape wheel, turns once a second. Start, stop and zero are worked by a patented rocker in the case band at 2 o'clock.

F.P. Journe's claim for this watch is about material rather than mechanism: calibre 1506 keeps its construction, and what is new is that case and movement, and the bracelet where fitted, are aluminium alloy.
