The Santos de Cartier skeleton, reference WHSA0016, in a 750/1000 rose gold case, 47.5 x 39.7 mm and 9.08 mm thick. Manually wound Manufacture calibre 9619 MC with skeletonised bridges forming Roman numerals, on a rose gold bracelet with a second bracelet in alligator leather.
Cartier dates the Santos to 1904, when Louis Cartier made a watch for the Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos Dumont, who wanted to read the time while flying. This skeleton version shows the hours and minutes on skeletonised bridges that form Roman numerals.
The movement is the manually wound Manufacture calibre 9619 MC, individually numbered and made of 138 parts including 20 rubies. It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour with a power reserve of approximately 72 hours.
