Overview
Two frequencies in one perpetual calendar
The Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Twin Beat Perpetual Calendar, reference 3200T/000P-H167, in 950 platinum with a multi-layer slate-and-white-gold dial, on a black calfskin strap. Manual-winding calibre 3610 QP with the Twin Beat® dual-frequency system and perpetual calendar; 42 mm, 12.32 mm high, certified to the Hallmark of Geneva.
The reference 3200T/000P-H167 is Vacheron Constantin's Traditionnelle Twin Beat Perpetual Calendar, in a 950 platinum case 42 mm across and 12.32 mm high. Vacheron Constantin says the model won the GPHG's 2019 Innovation Prize and is being released in 2026. The dial is built in layers, combining a slate-coloured hand-guillochéd inner section on an 18K white gold surface with sandblasted textures; 18K white gold hour-markers and dauphine hands sit alongside black 18K gold hands for the power reserve, date, month and frequency-mode indications, and a lower sapphire-crystal opening lets the calendar mechanics show through. The minute track is a railway design. It is worn on a black calfskin strap closed by a 950 platinum Ardillon buckle.
Inside is the manual-winding calibre 3610 QP, built around the brand's patented Twin Beat® system, which lets the wearer choose between two balance frequencies: an Active mode at 5 Hz for day-to-day timekeeping, giving a 4-day power reserve, and a Standby mode at 1.2 Hz that the brand says extends the reserve to 70 days -- five days more than the system's earlier version -- so the instantaneous perpetual calendar can sit unworn for over two months without losing time. The movement measures 32 mm across and 6 mm high, with 480 parts and 64 jewels, and carries the Hallmark of Geneva; the brand traces the mark to 1886, when Geneva's Republic and Canton set it as their own guarantee of finishing quality, and today reads it as a sign of origin, craftsmanship and dependability.
For collectors
Switching to Standby mode is a deliberate way to preserve the instantaneous perpetual calendar's accuracy through a long spell unworn -- at 1.2 Hz the movement runs for a stated 70 days, five more than the system's own earlier figure, which is worth knowing for anyone who does not wear the piece daily.
