Overview

The Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon in a 41.5 mm case

The A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon, reference 740.056FE, in an 18-carat white gold case, 41.5 mm across and 14.6 mm high, with an 18-carat pink gold dial. Manually wound calibre L952.2 with tourbillon, chronograph and perpetual calendar, on a dark brown alligator leather strap with a white gold deployant buckle.

Lange says the Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon combines three complications: a tourbillon whose stop-seconds mechanism is patented, a perpetual calendar and a flyback chronograph. In this white gold version the dial is solid pink gold. Lange limits it to 100 pieces.

The movement is calibre L952.2, manually wound, with 729 parts, a reserve of 50 hours and a balance beating at 18,000 semi-oscillations an hour (2.5 Hz). Lange lists the outsize date, power-reserve indicator, day/night indicator, moon-phase display, tourbillon, chronograph, day-of-week display and perpetual calendar. The case is 14.6 mm high, water resistant to 3 bar, with a sapphire glass case back. The strap is dark brown alligator leather, closed with a deployant buckle in 18-carat white gold.
