The A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Up/Down, reference 234.042, in an 18-carat pink gold case, 39 mm across and 8.7 mm high, with a blue/rhodié dial. Manually wound calibre L051.2 with power-reserve indicator, on a dark blue alligator leather strap with a pink gold prong buckle.
A. Lange & Söhne no longer makes this reference. Lange limits this version to 25 pieces. This execution is in 18-carat pink gold, with a blue/rhodié dial and a dark blue alligator leather strap with a pink gold prong buckle.
Lange made this special edition of the 1815 Up/Down to mark 25 years of partnership with Wempe, and gave it a deep-blue dial. Lange says the Up/Down name comes from the power-reserve indicator.
The movement is calibre L051.2, manually wound, with 245 parts and a reserve of 72 hours; the balance beats at 21,600 semi-oscillations an hour (3.0 Hz). The case is 8.7 mm high, water resistant to 3 bar, with a sapphire glass case back. The strap is alligator leather, closed with a prong buckle in the case metal.
