Overview
The 1815 Up/Down in a 39 mm case
The A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Up/Down, reference 234.032, in an 18-carat pink gold case, 39 mm across and 8.7 mm high, with an argenté dial. Manually wound calibre L051.2 with power-reserve indicator, on a brown alligator leather strap with a pink gold prong buckle.
This execution is in 18-carat pink gold. The dial is argenté in 925 silver, and the strap is brown alligator leather with a pink gold prong buckle.
The Up/Down takes its name from a function that Lange says has a long tradition. On the dial, a marker labelled AB (DOWN) stands for an unwound movement and one labelled AUF (UP) for a fully wound one. This reference is the 39 mm version.
The movement is calibre L051.2, manually wound, with 245 parts and a reserve of 72 hours; the balance beats at 21,600 semi-oscillations an hour (3.0 Hz). Lange lists one function, the power-reserve indicator. The case is 39 mm across and 8.7 mm high, water resistant to 3 bar, with a sapphire glass case back. The strap is alligator leather, closed with a prong buckle in the case metal.
