An X-shaped skeleton with a one-minute tourbillon
The Jacob & Co. Epic X Tourbillon Baguette, reference EX510.30.BD.BF.A30BB, in an 18-carat white gold case, 44 mm across and 12.30 mm high. It has a skeleton movement, with white baguette-cut diamonds and baguette-cut tsavorites set in the bezel, case, crown, bridges and bracelet. The bracelet is 18-carat white gold with a folding clasp.
Tsavorites are set in the case, the crown, the bridges and the bracelet, alongside baguette-cut diamonds in the bezel, case and bracelet.
The Epic X collection was launched in 2016, and its design takes the letter X as its starting point. On this watch the X begins at one pair of lugs, passes through the bridges of the skeleton movement and ends at the other pair. Jacob & Co. sets the stones in invisible setting, with the baguette-cut stones laid side by side so that no metal shows between them.
Hand-wound calibre JCAM03 is a skeleton movement that shows hours and minutes and carries a one-minute tourbillon. The tourbillon keeps the escapement in constant rotation, which counters the effect of gravity on accuracy. It has 179 components and a large barrel gives a 72-hour power reserve. This version is limited to 18 pieces.
