A 44 mm chronograph with three registers
The Jacob & Co. Epic X Chrono 44MM Tri-Compax, reference EC440.43.AC.AA.A, in an 18-carat rose gold and brown ceramic case, 44 mm across and 14 mm high. Its dial is translucent mineral crystal with 5N counter rings, on a brown honeycomb rubber strap with an 18-carat rose gold and titanium deployant clasp.
The skeletonised baton hands include 5N chronograph hands, and all carry Super-LumiNova tips.
Jacob & Co. built this chronograph on the X-shaped design of the Epic X collection, with the X running from the lugs through the dial. Guards protect the crown and pushers, and the movement is skeletonised. Jacob & Co. describes the 44 mm size as suited to wrists of all sizes.
Self-winding calibre JCAA12 is a chronograph with three registers, a layout called tri-compax. It has 264 components and a 48-hour power reserve, and it keeps the classic arrangement of a column wheel, a horizontal clutch and two pushers.

Design and engineering
- ChronographOne pusher starts and stops the timing and a second resets the hands. Elapsed time reads on the central seconds hand and two registers, one counting minutes and one counting hours.
- Case guardsThe crown and pushers sit in pieces that extend from the round case, and the pusher guards are repeated on the opposite side for symmetry.
- CaseAnti-reflective sapphire crystal and a caseback of ceramic and smoked sapphire crystal. Water resistant to 100 m.
