A V16 engine block set with baguette-cut stones
The Jacob & Co. Bugatti Tourbillon Baguette, reference BU820.40.BD.AA.A, in an 18-carat rose gold case, 54.80 x 44 mm and 15 mm high. The case is set with 328 baguette-cut white diamonds and 18 baguette-cut rubies, on an interchangeable black rubber strap with louvres and a white gold deployment buckle.
Its case is rose gold, but the caseback and the deployment buckle are white gold.
Jacob & Co. and Bugatti have been partners since 2019, and Jacob & Co. describes this watch as the gem-set twin of Bugatti’s Tourbillon hyper sports car. The automaton is a V16 engine block made from one block of transparent sapphire. It is drilled with 16 cylinders that house 16 pistons on a single crankshaft. When it runs, the crankshaft spins and the 16 cylinders move up and down.
Hand-wound calibre JCAM55 has 557 components and an 80-hour power reserve. Hours and minutes are both retrograde: each hand sweeps an arc of 270 degrees, then returns to zero, and the hour hand also jumps to the next hour. The flying tourbillon turns in 30 seconds. This version is limited to 18 pieces.
