Overview
A skeleton tourbillon set with stones
The Jacob & Co. Brilliant Tourbillon Art Deco, reference BT545.30.BB.BB.A, in an 18-carat white gold case, 47 mm across and 14.35 mm high. The case is set with 170 baguette-cut blue sapphires and the movement with 171 brilliant-cut white diamonds, on a white alligator leather strap with an 18-carat white gold pin buckle.
In this version the case, crown and pin buckle are set with blue sapphires, and the movement with white diamonds.
Jacob & Co. introduced the round Brilliant collection in 2017, with no lugs and the strap attached directly to the case. This Art Deco version takes its movement from Art Deco architecture: geometry, symmetry and clean lines. The pebble-shaped case has rounded edges, which Jacob & Co. gives as the source of the Brilliant name. Its baguette-cut stones are invisibly set, so no prongs or visible metal break the surface.
Hand-wound calibre JCAM05 is a skeleton movement built along strictly horizontal lines and regulated by a one-minute tourbillon. Its bridges carry stones of their own. Jacob & Co. notes that setting parts this thin is delicate, because the force of setting can bend them. This version is a pièce unique.
