A pebble-shaped case over a skeleton movement
The Jacob & Co. Brilliant Skeleton Northern Lights, reference BS420.55.RB.AA.A, in an aluminium case, 42 mm across. It has a green mineral crystal dial and a case pavé set with 252 round-cut tsavorites (≈8.9 ct), on a green alligator strap with an 18-carat rose gold tang buckle.
This version has an aluminium case set with tsavorites, with a green dial and a green alligator strap.
Jacob & Co. launched the Brilliant collection in 2017 as a ladies’ line. The case is round, has no lugs and takes the strap directly, and Jacob & Co. likens its shape to a pebble. The Northern Lights series takes its colours from the lights seen near the polar circle.
Hand-wound calibre JCAM01 was developed for this model and is skeletonised. Components that would normally be solid are hollowed out, so the structure of the movement becomes its decoration, and even the Jacob & Co. logo is part of the design. It has 21 jewels and a 46-hour power reserve.
