Overview
A dragon and a tiger around a fixed movement
The Jacob & Co. Astronomia Dragon, reference AT114.40.AA.UB.A, in an 18-carat rose gold case, 47 mm across and 24 mm high. It has a titanium and 5N dial, on a blue alligator leather strap with an 18-carat rose gold deployant buckle. This version is a pièce unique.
Calibre JCAM47 here has 48 jewels. The platform base is light blue aventurine, the Earth globe is lacquered blue, and winding and time-setting are done through lift-out rotating bows on the caseback.
Jacob & Co. built the Astronomia as a vertical, rotating movement. For the Dragon it fixed that movement in place, which leaves room for a coiled sculpture between the four satellite arms. Like every Astronomia, it models a solar system: the Earth is a magnesium globe and the moon is a diamond.
Hand-wound calibre JCAM47 has 337 components and a 60-hour power reserve. Its tourbillon turns on a single axis in 60 seconds. The diamond moon and the Earth globe each turn on their own axes in 30 seconds.
