The Divine at 36 mm
The F.P. Journe Octa Divine 36 mm, reference D, in 18K 6N gold set with 184 brilliant-cut diamonds, with the white gold and silver dial set with 320 diamonds and a diamond-set 6N gold pin buckle. 36 mm and 10.6 mm high, self-winding on calibre Octa 1300.3, with large date, moon phase and power reserve.
F.P. Journe made the Divine in a 36 mm case as the first jewellery model of its collection, for its women clients, and offered it with three different diamond settings. It was produced between 2003 and 2021. Under the stones it keeps the Octa calibre 1300.3 in 18K rose gold and the Divine's indications: central hours and minutes, small seconds at lower right, a large date, a retrograde reserve on a 120-hour scale, and the moon phase.
The moon is shown on a metallic sapphire disc that moves forward one notch each time the date changes, driven by its own wheel train and set from the crown, turned the opposite way to the date. The hour and minute circles are screwed to the dial, a construction F.P. Journe has patented. The movement winds through an off-centre 22K 5N gold rotor turning one way on a self-locking ball bearing, and its long mainspring gives an effective reserve of 160 ± 10 hours.
For collectors
Both catalogued executions have the same case, set with 184 brilliant-cut diamonds; what separates the two catalogued executions is where the remaining stones go. One sets 320 diamonds in the dial and adds a diamond-set pin buckle; the other keeps a plain white gold and whitened silver dial and moves the stones to a bracelet partially set with 466.
