Digital hours on the earlier Résonance
The F.P. Journe Chronomètre à Résonance Black Label, reference RT, in platinum, blackened gold dial with a digital 24-hour display at 9 o'clock and a whitened guilloché silver 12-hour dial at 3 o'clock, produced between 2011 and 2017. Two independent balances kept in step by resonance on calibre 1499.3, crown at 12 o'clock.
This is the earlier Résonance construction in the brand's Black Label form, on calibre 1499.3, which F.P. Journe states was produced between 2011 and 2017. The Black Label collection, on F.P. Journe's account, was created for people who already own an F.P. Journe watch, against a production of about 900 watches a year, in a platinum case with a black dial, and is sold only in the brand's boutiques and espaces. In his own words, François-Paul Journe places the Résonance as the second model of his Souveraine collection, reached after fifteen years of attempts to bring to the wrist a phenomenon Antide Janvier and Abraham-Louis Breguet had used in precision regulators.
Two balances, each with its own escapement, run in one 18K rose gold movement, 32.60 mm across and 4.50 mm high, and hold each other to a common beat by resonance; F.P. Journe's own image for it is a radio that crackles until its wavelength meets the transmitter's and then settles. What this execution adds is on the dial. At 9 o'clock a digital 24-hour indicator distinguishes the hours of day from those of night; at 3 o'clock a whitened guilloché silver analogue dial reads 12 hours, as local time or, F.P. Journe says, the same zone as the left. The crown is at 12 o'clock and sets the two dials in opposite directions, a button at 4 o'clock resets both seconds hands, and the reserve is read at 11.

The left dial is a digital 24-hour display, and F.P. Journe attaches a use to it: the 24-hour indicator defines the hours of day and of night, while the analogue right dial indicates local time. F.P. Journe gives 27 turns of the crown, 36 jewels, 299 parts, 40 ± 2 hours, the crown at 12 and the button at 4.
