The small Baignoire with a diamond-set case
The Cartier Baignoire, reference WJBA0049, in an 18-carat white gold case, 32 x 26 mm and 8 mm thick, with a 925/1000 silver dial. Quartz movement, on a navy blue alligator leather strap.
Cartier dates the design to 1912 and says the name Baignoire came later. It describes the watch as an ellipse formed in a single line.
On this small model, brilliant-cut diamonds are set into the case and one more sits in the beaded crown. A quartz movement drives blued-steel sword-shaped hands over a dial in 925/1000 silver.
