The Tank à Guichets in a 37.6 x 24.8 mm case
The Cartier Tank à Guichets, reference WGTA0237, in a 950/1000 platinum case, 37.6 x 24.8 mm and 6 mm thick. Manually wound calibre 9755 MC with a jumping hour, on a black alligator leather strap with a platinum ardillon buckle. Cartier limits this version to 200 numbered pieces.
Cartier dates the Tank to 1917, when Louis Cartier created it, and says the first prototype went to General Pershing before the watch reached the market in 1919. The Tank à Guichets reads the time through two apertures, one for the hour and one for the minutes.
The movement is the manually wound Manufacture calibre 9755 MC, which drives a jumping hour. The display uses rotating discs with Arabic numerals and a minute track. It has 17 rubies, a balance at 28,800 vibrations per hour and a power reserve of approximately 42 hours.
