The Santos-Dumont skeleton with an automatic micro-rotor movement
The Cartier Santos-Dumont skeleton, reference HPI01631, in a rhodium-finish 18-carat white gold case, 43.5 x 31.4 mm and 8 mm thick. Automatic calibre 9629 MC with a micro-rotor, on a semi-matte dark blue alligator leather strap with a diamond-set ardillon buckle. Cartier limits this version to 150 numbered pieces.
Cartier dates the Santos-Dumont to 1904 and says Louis Cartier answered the wish of the Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos Dumont to read the time while flying.
The movement is calibre 9629 MC, 23.2 mm across and 4.4 mm thick. Its balance runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour, and the power reserve is approximately 44 hours. The crystal and the case back are sapphire.

- Dial and handsThe bridges are covered in a gradient of blue lacquer and set with 5 brilliant-cut diamonds totalling 0.02 carats. White lacquer hour-markers and blued-steel sword-shaped hands complete the display.
- Strap and buckleSemi-matte dark blue alligator leather, with a second strap in varnished dark blue alligator leather. The rhodium-finish 18-carat white gold ardillon buckle is set with 25 brilliant-cut diamonds totalling 0.21 carats.
