This manually winding 42 mm Patek Philippe 5303R-001 Grand Complications Minute Repeater Tourbillon with classic cathedral gongs is crafted predominantly from 18k rose gold, however the flanks of the case band and the lugs have been hollowed out and inlaid with leaf shapes that mirror the shape of the hour and minute hands and are crafted in 18k white gold. The partially skeletonised dial is impressive, exposing the hammers and racks at the 10 o’clock position and parts of the tourbillon cage at the 6 o’clock position. The skeletonised white gold leaf-shaped hour and minute hands in white gold and lacquered in black move smoothly around the hour circle, whilst the subsidiary seconds leaf shaped hand in 18k rose gold sweeps around the transparent counter with its white track. Protecting the dial is the transparent UV protected sapphire crystal, accentuated by a black-lacquered sapphire crystal hour circle with white minute markers and rose gold powdered hour dot markers. Turn this magnificent 5303R-001 over and you will see via the sapphire crystal caseback, a rose gold base plate, with the visible bridges in rhodium finish, however the highlight is the “octopus” wheel with its serpentine spokes that have been rounded and polished. The power behind the 5303R-001 is the caliber R TO 27 PS, offering functions that include minute repeater with chime on two classic gongs, tourbillon, small seconds, and providing a power reserve up to 48 hours. This magnificent timepiece is humidity and dust protected ONLY, not water resistant. Complimented by a hand stitched shiny black alligator strap with square scales with fold over clasp.
